Tobacco Leaf Rim Soup Plate is a great bowl for serving a steaming bowl of soup on a winter day. This extravagant design was originally made in China, probably for export to the Portuguese and Brazilian markets. This was the most highly prized of all the 18th century dinner patterns. It's easy to see why, with its twenty-seven colors and 22K gold, based on an original displayed in the Metropolitan Museam of Art. Features a small phoenix bird perched on the leaves of the flowering Nicotiana (Tobacco) plant. One of Mottahedeh's most popular and longest running patterns.
