Cire Classic Candle by Trudon

The Cire scented candle is an olfactory repre-sentation of the manufacture: symbolic, it blends emanations of warm wax and perfumes being crafted. Reinterpreting Trudon's fundamental values - ancient savoir-faire and commitment to excellence - the scented candle reveals a unique perfume: behind the amber-colored glass, a beeswax absolute. Bees and beeswax have always been at the heart of the manufacture's History: since the 17th century, Trudon's motto is "Deo regique laborant", which means: "they (the bees) work for God and the King". 2019 marks a turning point for the Maison, as Trudon decided to financially help the Orne Dark Bee Conservatory, with the partnership of the Perche Nature Park. 4 percent of all sales of the Maison's Cire candle will go toward the saving of Orne Dark Bees. Discover more about our commitment.

"I believe that contributing to the protection of a species as vital to life and symbolic of our Maison, but unfortunately greatly endangered, is a duty. For centuries we have benefitted from the work of bees. Today it is essential that we commit, in concrete terms, and contribute to raising public awareness." Julien Pruvost, Creative Director of Maison Trudon

Candle Anatomy

  • The Wick

is made of cotton. One can find many types of wicks, characterized by their weaving and their diameter. The wicks are chosen depending on the shape and size of the glasses, as well as the burning characteristics of each candle.

  • The Wax

is the fruit of specific developments which are the source of the candle exceptional olfactory and burning qualities. When correctly taken care of, no smoke leaves a Trudon candle and no wax is left on the sides of the glass.

  • The Emblem

is inspired by a bas relief found at the old Royal Wax Manufacture which used to belong to the Trudon family. Situated in Antony, near Paris, it now belongs to the Church. Nowadays the domain hosts the nuns of the Saint-Joseph de Cluny congregation.

  • The Glass

is unique and hand-crafted in Tuscany. Its shape is inspired by champagne buckets.

Maintenance

  • In order to get most out of your candle, burn it until the entire surface of the candle melts.
  • To preserve the fragrance, do not burn your candle for more than 3 hours straight during the first third of the candle and 1 to 2 hours during the remaining.
  • Do not leave your candle unattended.
  • Keep away from drafts. Keep away from children, curtains and pets.
  • Should the wick require centering, gently readjust to correct position when the wax is still molten. Allow the candle to solidify before relighting.
  • Should any black smoke appear, trim the wick, which should be clean and no longer than 6mm at all times.
  • Always protect the table or surface on which candle is set (with a coaster or a plate, for example).
  • Do not burn your candle all the way down. Always leave at least 5mm of non-molten wax at the bottom.
  • Keep your candle in a dry and temperate environment, between 60 and 80° F.
  • The first use of your candle should occur within the two first months after its reception.
